These festive and fabulous images on the December pages of the 2024 Ultimate Sailing Calendar herald the oncoming Holidays and New Year! With that cheery burst of red and white amidst the frothy spray – and is that Santa on the bow?
No- No- No-vember?
Our spectacular November 2024 calendar images were captured by Sharon Green at Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez in France during a particularly spicy season. Shenandoah of Sark is a three--masted gaff topsail schooner measuring 180-feet overall. Her waterline is 107-feet, beam 27-feet, and draft 15-feet. Originally constructed in 1902, and most recently refit in 2019, she weighs in at 178-tonns!
Color is back in the world of sailing
Everywhere there’s a pop of color – in the spinnakers, graphics and the depth of the sea – adding to sailing’s multi-sensory sport, art and passion. ‘Like the intense vermilion and marigold of Fast Exit II’s sail plan; the tones emblemizing the force and fury of the yacht as it plows through the azure waves of Hawaii.
The Opti-mal Angle
These dynamic images from Optimist regattas on opposite sides of the globe show just how far he (Matias Capizzano) will go to capture the sport – from any angle, in any place!
“Matias is an incredibly versatile photographer,” Sharon Green asserts. “He operates underwater with his housing, flies a drone, drives his own rib, and captures phenomenal stills and video!”

Sharon Green – Ultimate Sailing in association with Gareth Kelly – Bowline Films are thrilled to announce their documentary short film, Fresh to Frightening – The Sharon Green Story is on tour.
The 19-minute short film tells the story of how a young woman from Canada - Sharon Green - inspired by her father's yacht racing triumph, rises to the top through the '80s and ’90s of a male-dominated industry to become one of the leading competitive yacht racing photographers in the world and the founder of Ultimate Sailing.
Take a glimpse behind the scenes of this glamorous and exciting sport as Green preps for races, chases down the wind, and takes to the sky in a helicopter hoping to capture images of majestic racing yachts in “big seas & big winds”, conditions Green lives for and calls – Fresh to Frightening.
